Inspection Instructions

To locate defective pixels effectively:

  • Clean the screen: Ensure the display glass is free of surface dust or smudge particles.
  • Full-screen inspection: Enter Fullscreen mode and slowly scan your eyes across the solid white field looking for persistent black dots.
  • Check primary colors: Switch to Red, Green, and Blue fields to identify individual dead subpixels.
  • Place a marker: Click the screen to place a temporary inspection target over any questionable spots.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a dead pixel and a stuck pixel?

A dead pixel remains permanently black and does not illuminate because no electrical current reaches its transistor. A stuck pixel remains permanently locked on a single color (red, green, blue, or white) due to a malfunctioning subpixel transistor.

Can dead or stuck pixels be fixed?

Physical dead pixels typically cannot be repaired without panel replacement. Stuck pixels can occasionally unstick over time or through rapid RGB color cycling exercises.

How do I use the Inspection Marker feature?

While in Fullscreen or normal test mode, click or tap directly on any suspicious dot on your display. A persistent red circle marker will be placed on screen so you can inspect whether the dot persists when changing colors.
